Google+ Launches Business Pages

Officially launched 2 days ago, it is now possible to tie your Google Places into the new Google+ social network. This functionality has been a while coming for Google+, and will add a welcome boost to those who wish to trial its effectiveness for marketing purposes.

Ive had a play around with creating some pages on Google+, and it seems very straight forward. I still think theres a long way to go before its really useful, and im certainly keen to see how you can attract and use an audience base on the new pages. It looks overall, a little harder than Facebook perhaps is, because of the circles aspect and the fact that people can elect to interact with your page on a lesser level than say, they can on Facebook just by liking your page.

Its an interesting start, and I hope Google+ business pages do become as popular as the Facebook counterparts – as with Google’s suit of other great products for business – such as Analytics – it could mean great things for branding and marketing online.
